Free. \nRSVP: bit.ly/chevrondoctrine \nJoin us for “Chevron Doctrine Overruled\, Limits power of regulatory agencies” the third in the League’s 2024-25 Lecture Series on Recent Supreme Court Decisions. \nOn June 28\, 2024\, the Supreme Court of the United States by a vote of 6-3\, issued a landmark decision in Loper Bright Enterprises v. Raimondo overturning the federal judiciary’s 40-year-old practice of deferring to agencies’ reasonable interpretations of ambiguous federal laws. \nSpeakers: Bridget Asay\, Partner\, Stris & Maher\, LLP and Delcianna J. Winders\, Associate Professor and Animal Law and Policy Institute Director\, Vermont Law & Graduate Studies (VLGS). \nBridget\, an experienced trial and appellate lawyer who served as Vermont’s Solicitor General\, has argued dozens of appeals in state and federal courts throughout the country\, including twice before the U.S. Supreme Court. \nDelci\, whose primary interests are administrative and animal law\, clerked for the Hon. Martha Craig Daughtrey on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit following law school.
